The ATC is a voluntary, youth organisation open to anyone between the ages of 12-16 in NZ
There are squadrons located all over the country, from Auckland, to Invercargill.
The ATC conducts adventure-based training in a safe enviroment. All cadets are encouraged to step outside their comfort-zone and do things that they would never have thought that they would do.
Training is conducted in the following areas;
Bushcraft, Flying(powered & gliding), Weapons training, Drill, Aircraft recognition, RNZAF customs and history, Navigation, Citizenship, Radio operation, Tri-service ranks, and many more
I have been it an ATC unit for three years now and have loved every minute of it. I have risen to the rank of Corporal, and been able to do many things you would not do with any other youth group.
